I got my Baldwin seat last week and I am very happy with it. I drew some pictures for Loren and talked to him on the phone about the design of the seat. He was great to deal with and it came out exactly how I invisioned it. I did not get the gel insert and it is very comfortable. I can almost touch the whole bottom of my shoe to the ground now :)http://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/8123_20111018094848_L.jpghttp://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/8123_20111018094545_L.jpghttp://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/8123_20111018094932_L.jpg

How much does a custom seat like that set you back? Really looks great!

It was about 375.00 shipped. Not bad at all, probably my favorite mod yet. I have a set of Knight Designs foot pegs on the way. They will be 1" lower and it will give me back the room I had with the factory seat. (this seat is about an inch lower because I am 5'8")

Upload them to http://imageshack.us/ instead of buellxb. You can get bigger pictures and it allows you to resize them as well if they are too big still.

Is it lower than the buell low seat? Im vertically challenged as well and could use a few lower inches.

I'm not quite sure. It is about an inch lower than the stock seat. You can only go so far because of the pan, and you need sufficiant padding. I'm 5'8" 30" inseam and I can almost touch flat footed. I kind of laugh to myself while sitting at a red light on my tippie tows,a set of chicken legs, and this bike with the Hawk exhaust rummbling. I know some people have to think its funny. I love this bike though. I came from and still have a CBR F4i

Nice....I was just gonna pull the trigger today on the Corbin Gunfighter for my 03 XB9S. Did you do any comparisions and choose this over the Corbin for any specific reason ?

lvn - seat looks fantastic...Loren really does great work!

Boxkid - I picked Baldwin to make me a seat over corbin for a couple reasons...

First, Baldwin makes the seat custom to you. If you want it built higher, lower, wider, narrower...whatever...he will do it. With corbin I was given no options like that, just different covers for the seat.

Second, Loren is a Bueller like us and stands behind his product, and is also extremely easy to communicate with. If the fit or comfort is not what you wanted it to be he will fix it. I read tons of horror stories about terrible customer service from Corbin after the sale.

It was a pretty easy choice for me.

I picked Baldwin for the same reasons Miami did. I am picky and being able to scetch a picture of the seat I want, and give him all the needed measurements to make the seat fit me was the main reason. I looked at all of the seat options long and hard because I hate to do something then find out I made the wrong choice. The Corbin seat is nice but I wanted a more aggressive look. I stressed that with Loren and even how the back of where I sit is straight which he hadn't done before. The only thing I would have done different and I meant to talk to him about it is you give him a measurement from the very back of the seat up to where you butt would back up to in your normal riding position. He got the measurement right but I have no room to move back if I want to stretch out a little more. I kind of like it though because I love to romp on the bike and with all of the torque it really holds me in place. I have 2" drop pegs coming in the mail Monday from Knight Designs. They realy just lower the peg height 1" because the 06 and up came with 1" drop pegs. I think these will go better with the seat height and give me the room I need. Thanks Blaylock :D
