I have had 6000k 55 watt DDM Tuning lights in my lightning for the past three years. They work great.

Pretty sure its an H7, but double check that. You can do 55w or 35w. 55w might be a bit hard on the reflector housing, some folks have had issues, others don't - I think the newer bikes are less likely to have issues.
4500k is said to be the most efficient/best color temp. Higher numbers = bluer color.
Note that HID's take a bit to come on, so you can't really flash your lights at folks. If you are big on flashing maybe add some accessory LED lights and wire them to the flash button. Otherwise maybe leave the hallogen bulb in the high beam side and just convert the low beam.

get the 35w kit.
55 might be too much for the housing. IIRC, the housings have heat problems anyways.
35w is plenty of light output[up]
