Ok so for this years winter mod I was thinking a bolt front end on my lightning. I have been searching for a long time and was unable to find anything with any real help and info. I have seen plenty bolts to lightning, but no lightning to bolts.

So heres my questions and I need help!

My bike = 05 xb12scg lightning.

Now, can I mount a bolt front on the lightning but keep the lightning headlights? I know the fairing would have to be cut.. anyone do this? know of anyone?

Next question is what is a list of all the things I would need? I know headlights, fairing, new triple with bars, anything else? ignition?

Any help would be great guys ive been debating this for a very long time and if it is affordable I think I might attempt it this winter.

i know going to a firebolt front is alot easier because there is no wiring to deal with up there. Everything should bolt right up. Theres plenty of people on here that have done it.

you will have to do something with the ignition because that mounts on the firebolt top triple

I saw a guy on here once modify a firebolt fairing to fit over lightning headlights but i didn't think it looked very good.

I would just look for someone on here to trade headlights, fairings, brackets and everything with you

although i would love a firebolt fairing on my scg, it aint going to happen anytime soon. it is just a little bit more than i want to tackle.

front fairing stay, the plastic fairing, lights, ignition and triples are what you'd need

very easy swap if you're looking to get rid of your lightning setup afterwards let me know

thanks wolfo, is that all? haha so im looking at at 300 bucks or more. I think ill post a wtb thread on that list. Im guessing it will be straight forward to actually do it, Im just going to start collecting the parts.

it's pretty straight forward and that should be all you need

for the fairing stay, talk to tattedscotty he was thinking 80 for his if he still has it
lights are 100 ish for the whole set up
front fairing depends on the condition 40-100
I can get you the top triple for 50 if my guy still has it not I think the bars are about 20 a piece


not sure if you want the mirrors or the block off plates, they help hold the fairing on
