Headers and retaining rings

Anybody have a surefire way to get the "c" clip type retaining on to the headers?
Been wrestling with it for awhile now and I have there ceramic coated pipes and a Drummer I want to get installed tonight if possible.

not sure if this will make sense to you but take one end of the clip and put it below the lip on the header slightly pull the other end away from the header using a spiral motion walk the clip around the header.this worked for me.

Take a screw drive you don't use cut the end off of it. To were all it is is a round bar the cut a sollow notch in it. Put the c clip in place put the screw drive on it tap the handle with a hammer gently. Hopefully that works it just off the top of my head by the way.
