Im rebuilding the motor on my m2, i was told to look for a set of xb heads and am wondering if its better to go with the 12 or 9, or if i should just get them new? either way i need a good complete set of heads, any feedback on this would be very helpful and appreciated

Go all the way and look for custom XB heads...might as well since you're doing it anyway.
I believe the heads should be the same

1200 cc cylinders is what you need.
why? because the busses in the old tubers tend to tear loose after time.
get them drilled & honed to fit original pistons.
clean and flatten the heads to get you a totally revised engine ;)

i wish this thing looked like it was painted in 5 mins and then some sand through in the paint for good messures. it was in rough shape. but if i was even a tad bit familiar with redoing one i would have took it.
