is it me or is the ducati 696 has the same power or maybe even more than my 09' xb12scg. i tried out my buddy's ducati 696 (stock) and it feels like it has a bit more power than my xb12scg (stock). or maybe there's something wrong with my xb? i'm confused.

'09 696: 80HP&51Ft.Lb Torque
'09 XB12SCG: 103HP&84Ft.Lb Torque
but the ducati has more revs and it could create an illusion of it being more powerful also could be gearing.

My freind also rides a 696 monster and he keeps up because he's a better rider but it defidently does not compare power wise . I will say it's a more cofortable power band in the city and you can realy wind it up before needing to shift and its top end is almost as fast. It just doesn't have the torque the Buell has. Still a very fun bike to ride!

A popular mod for the Monster is the 14 tooth front sproket as opposed to the stock 15. It makes it slightly faster off the line (and raises the RPM a little bit for easier city driving).

Also the Monster has faster throttle action than the Buell. You can get wide open throttle without having to reposition your grip and twisting a little more like you do on the Buell. The same twist of the wrist is actually more throttle on the Monster.
