So I decided to buy some stands for my bike but in my case I have just moved to the EU (Germany) with a xb12ss 2009 (rizoma sliders on front and back wheels) and the brand which are readily available in store and online via mail order are not so accessible to me here. I did some looking around and decided to get a set of stands that use an optional spool or swingarm adapter for the rear but with my sliders I am not sure which is best to use (I really don't want to harm the bike's swingarm finish).

In addition to the above front stand is a triple tree stand but I am not sure what size pin I need to use for my bike (xb12ss 2009) I think it might be an 18mm is this correct?

Your sliders don't have the notch for a rear stand...you'll need a rear stand that has the paddle adapters that slip under the swingarm.
Yes, 18mm for the front pin.

Thank you so much for the slider tip. I was thinking this but needed some advice from some one who knew_
Thanks also for the 18 this I couldn't even have guessed

i prefer to put my bikes up on my non-notched sliders, than on the paddles.
i've experinced that the paddles will slip and slide up the swingarm, especially on the uly with the longer swingarm/taller suspension

Thats an issue with all the Buells.
Best thing to do is keep the pads as tight as you can and keep the bike as steady as you can.
You can try and block up the wheels on the stand to keep it put, sometimes that helps.

Here are the "notched" or "slotted" or "spooled" sliders I sell. You can see where the stand would mate with the slider to lift the motorcycle.

... you could drill a hole in the swingarm frame, just infront of the axle and thread in some spools, just for putting it up on stands. or have someone weld a set of bossed threads onto the swingarm ... just a thought.
