$3800 tops. 24K on a bike is up there no matter how you look at it. You can't count on it having been well maintained and not abused. After all, its a "sport bike".

I paid $3500 for my 07 Scg a few weeks ago. It has 28K on it, but has been maintained extremely well. Very clean, and I feel was well worth what I paid. My bike was ready to ride as is. If you have to start buying stuff for it, then consider what a fair price is for you.

5K per year is average miles according to NADA and KBB so it's not too far off. Does it have all the service records? Either way I'd go $3500 tops.

get it for as cheap as possible if he says no to what you want to spend there is always another one.

anrkizm95 thats what i think .im just trying to get the best deal for myself no one is putting a gun to someone's head and forcing them to make the deal .saving some money in my pocket for repairs down the line .either he takes my money or he doesnt no big deal

Its pretty insulting to give such a low ball offer. Your mind set is the reason our buells will never gain value. Its an 07 for crying out loud. I understand and agree with getting a good value but offering 1000 dollars less then what he was asking (which wasnt bad to begin with) and saying you wont go more then 2700 is insulting. For that, find a buell with a salvage title with thoses miles and stop wasting this mans time. Unless you ride it and romp on it and you feel like something might be off, then thats when you expect something to go wrong soon.

Not trying to come off as a dick. Just hate it when people low ball other people who have a buell and try to get them at retarded prices then everyone else thinks that paying 3000$ for a 07 1203cc motorcycle is a "bad deal." And if a buell isnt worth that much money to you, find a new type of bike.

Yes you did come off like a dick

I had over 28K on my Lightning, total lost in an accident (car turned left in frount of me)bought it back from the insurance co.and now it is my trackbike. It is a very strong bike. In todays market I would think around $3500.

ahhhh...the art of haggling. for most of us, part of the enjoyment of purchasing a new (to you) bike. personally, if the guy is at 3K and you think it fairly priced and affordable. if you're short a hundred or so, try the "could you go $2900 on it as that would give me a bit of cash to do the title and tags and tax thing. would really help me out as i'm cutting it close." they usually say yes.
regarding the mileage, whether it's a lightning or a sportster, i've seen these machines at 24K miles that have been well maintained and cared for and never involved in smoke shoes or wheelie parades that still ran and appeared virtually as new. and i've seen them at 2400 miles that had the **** beat out of them on a daily basis that were used up and destined for the boneyard. if you can't get a feel from the seller as to how he rode and maintained it, then take someone along who can. hope you get it as these really are wonderful bikes.

I don't have an issue with someone getting a good deal, some people have to dump their **** ASAP, so what if you, me or the next guy is the recipient of his or her misfortune. Dude asks $3700, you offer $2500, he bites because he's got to get his friend out on bail... So what? If someone wants to give someone else book plus because they feel they should that's OK too but don't knock a guy for trying. I've been getting low balled for 3 months on my ZX12R and I tell them to lick my nuts... If I was desperate for a kidney transplant or I needed money for crack I might sure, but that's not the case. Market is, is market does.
