I have a 2004 XB12S W/9K MILES. Last night driving home in the dark I noticed the head light going dim then back to normal then dim ect.....It has a new battery (5 months ago). Any ideas where to start?

Everything else work ok? Didnt notice it running weird, or other lights going dim?
I'd check your battery connections, and the ground connection going to the frame.
If that doesn't get you anywhere go the simple route and replace the bulbs.

you say the battery is 5 months old, but if it just sat that for 4 months, then ... :o
check connections.

My bike does the same thing and it also has a new battery. I ride it regularly. I am thinking it is the voltage reg also. Hopefully it makes it another month cause then my riding season will be over.

Racer, have you tried replacing the voltage reg? Mine seems like it might be getting worse. I would hate to be riding and lose my lights.
Anyone else have suggestions before I start throwing money at this?

Now that it's darker in the mornings, I've noticed the same thing. Dual high beam hack on my bike, and every 15-20 seconds, the lights will dim and then gradually come back. It's only a second or so but I thought I was having flashbacks for a little bit.
