nice looking machine.. i understand under race conditions the cr is a faster and harder pulling maching then the xb models....i would think im the lower rpm around town the xb would pull ahead at the beginning..where the cr would have to depend on a down shift to start making power....would i be right in thinking that

It has a slightly taller gear out back for a little more off the line. The rider position puts you in a race position depending on your height. Since there is no bubble to hide behind you get the real sense that your going faster then you are or until you look down at the speedo and see that your WAYYYY over the speed limit. The bars give you good front end feel while still giving stable control. 2009 Brings some MAP changes to the 1125's engine. There is a difference in the operation under 5000 rpm (it's smoother). There is a up date for all 2008 1125R's that makes them run like 2009 models. All in all this is one hell of a bike![up]

I hear the maps on the '09 25's are way better than the '08's.

That should help make up for how ugly the CR turned out.

I'll trade my Lighting 12S, but I don't like those air scoops, they look like elephant ears, however it's an amazing machine and I know those scoops are functional to aid scavanging fresh air to the oil coolers.

I have ridden the CR and I will say that it has but one purpose. To go like a bay out of hell! The bars that come on the CR are a little much for me but I believe they make the handle bar kit that can set you up right. I think those bars are off the SS.
