Removing factory bar ends

Anyone have a process on how to remove the plastic factory bar ends? I would just take a pair of pliers to em but I don't wanna screw em up too bad.

Towel around the plastic bar ends and pull with pliers.

My clutch side was glued in so heavily I had to cut the cap off and dremel out the inside of the bar to get a barend mirror in there. The brake side just popped right out by hand.

When I took my old ones out I drilled a small hole in the caps and put a small screw in them then pulled them out with pliers.

There pretty hard to remove without damaging them.

I tried and failed.
