Hello Buellers,

Did tons for reading in search of the perfect bike and so I finally bought a 04 XB12s w/ 9k miles three weeks ago in bone stock condition. So far I have done the following focusing on aesthetics first. Clubman bar with 1"risers, HIDs, 3" bar end mirror, shaved seat foam, led tail lamp and chop, 4 led turn signals, subframe/tail lift (custom), a/m brake and clutch levers, and exhaust valve pulled open.

Going track in July : Buttonwillow, CA- Big Willow.. Will be changing fluids out soon and going with Royal Purple. Needs some advice with performance as I am unfamiliar with V-twins. The mods will be done after track as I want to see/feel the difference and gradually built it up. Also I don’t want to waste $$$ finding the right performance mods (no trail and error). I believe in doing it right the first time. What recommendation can you seasoned Buellers make as far as exhaust and ecu? No Jardine exhaust and can anyone can give me some details into the advantages and disadvantage of EBR ecu and Ecmspy. Any other proven mods with hp gain would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

IMO, have someone experienced help you with suspension set-up for the track ("big" Willow will be a lot faster than Buttonwillow), if not outright upgrading your suspension. This is where I would start. Then I would get nice, fresh, sticky rubber...

Exhaust recommendations are like oil or tire recommendations--everyone has their preferences. I particularly like my GB exhaust, and it really woke my '09 up. The Keda exhaust looks like a winner too. Read some reviews on here and go with what looks/sounds good to you.

Willow Springs is my favorite track--Good luck and have fun!

With a good tune the Keda will get you more hp and torque then any other after market pipes besides something like the micron. Besides those to things get a k&n filter with the open air box mod. After those three I would look into getting a slipper clutch and a chain drive setup. Also upgrade the brakes, EBR offers great rotors and hardware. You might want to get the ztl2 caliper and master cylinder off an 1125 or newer model XB.

thanks kid! i think i will be doing exactly those mods in that order.

as far as the airbox mod goes, should i just copy and cut my stock airbox or should i order one? im no stranger to air tools.
