It was on my bike when I got it,anyone had any experience with these tires? I've read tons of reviews and they seem to be split down the middle of people who love them or hate them. I've only been riding since february but I'm trying like hell to get rid of the last 3/4 of an inch of chicken strip but the rear seems to kick out a little as i lean further.

The ones I've seen tend to be thicker, and a slightly harder compound, than an outright sport tires. That probably means they last longer, but won't be as predictably sticky as a premium tire. I have seen guys use them on track days, though, so I know that they are not completely useless as sporting tires. Still, I'd rather look for a premium tire on sale than use them. My .02

Well I've put 3000 miles on this tire myself and it doesn't really look any different than the day I brought the bike home, which is nice in the fact that new tires cost $ but it just isn't making me very confident of it's capabilities. I just really don't have the experience to base an opinion of this tire off of.

^^on a cruiser/commuter, not so bad. On a sporting bike that's pushed hard?? Hmmm....

Like I said, I'd look for a premium tire if I were riding hard...

I ran tomahawk tires on my last bike, a few sets before selling the bike and they are great. Very inexpensive and I got 5,000 hard miles out of every set(rear went first every time, but I always replace in sets).

They are a "sport" compound, not a "sport touring" compound, so they are a little stickier than a sport touring tire. I personally would rather have a stickier tire, it's a little safer. I'd rather the tire wear out at 5,000 miles instead of 7,000 if it means I have a little more grip on the pavement. And at the price of the tires, 5,000 miles is pretty good. I have pirelli tires on my buell currently(were on there when I bought it) but I will definitely switch to tomahawk when they need replaced.

People always gave me **** for running retreads saying it was very unsafe on a bike, but if you actually know a lot about the tires and the standards that they have to test them to, they are actually probably safer than "new" tires.

They are made by Desser Tire Co. who makes retread for aircraft. If you trust them on a Boeing slamming into the ground and 200+ mph why wouldn't you trust them on a 400lb bike? They are tested to the same standards.

I heard about them at a track day I attended. The guy used them on the track since they were cheap. I tried them out on the street and they are great.

I am currently running a T3 190/50zr-17 on the rear of my XB12R and it has lasted over 4000 so far and I will probably get 5000 out of it. I also have put hard miles on it. commuting to work, racing around the adirondacks with my buddies on there r1's, rc51's, as well as other buellers and they have been great tires so far. I can't complain. And for the price what the hell. I just ordered a 200 to put on when this one gets shot.

They will get a flat spot but it seems to be much slower than the stockers did. Stock tires lasted me 2500 miles and I don't do burnouts.
