Air filters seems to be quite a discussable topic, but it seems that it is difficult to obtain and 2nd to ensure it is a workable product. We have researched all types of air filters and found that a cone filter with a silicone insert [to ensure the vortex action when air enters the air intake] is doing the job quite well, the problem do arise that the ‘airflow sensor’ is now out of the equation and tuning have to commence with a ‘fixed’ map typically with ECM spy, you could also at the same time also exclude the exhaust sensor and it all works well. My Buell XB 12 has been running quite well on the fixed setting[race Ecm tuned with ECM spy] with the rev limiter at 7200rpm and making exceptionally good power on the rear wheel [98hp on the dyno]

OK, I thought all the XB airfilters were the same? Listing for a XB12Ss is $62.06. Buellsterparts says the BU-9003 fits my application.
Further research reveals that Amazon is trying to pull a fast one. When I input my year, make, and model it says the the BU-9003 "does not fit my application. Then clicking on the button "find all products that fit this vehicle" the air filter listed is priced at $62.06, and is the same part number.
