im almost done with my next build and want to get some opinions.
i was thinking of painting the triples graphite grey to match the frame and gas cap and rhino line the front stay black to match the points cover and primary.
or rhino line the triples trees and paint the front stay graphite grey.
here is the bike.

ive always hated it and thought it slack by erik and buell, to have left hte xb12 headlight subframe the same finish as from the xb9 and not match it to the xb12 frame. even with the later models right through they left it silver. i have always painted mine to match the frame.
i would suggest that if you are changing your forks as they are a miss match top to bottom as well, then i would leave the upper tripple silvery grey and paint the front subframe graphite. and while youre at it, paint the front engine mount graphite as well. afterall its a left over looking piece as well.
got me started now... i remember when the first 1125 came out, and i thought WTF! as they did the same it it. left hte rear pegs supports xb12grey when the rest of the frame was new blue.
best image i could find just now...

and thats also why you never run anything hanging off your bike key. always fuks up around the location.

yea put the bedliner spray on the trees, i like the rustoleum kind a lot better than the duplicolor brand fwiw. and the fairing stay graphite gray.
i think you should also paint the lower fork to match the trees.

I'm about to powder coat my triples and bracket graphite gray to match my frame as well squid. I think it'll look sharp.

I put rustoleum bed liner on my triple trees, it's really nice and strong. One reason I like it there is because my keys swing around and it slowly wears down whatever finish there is. The bed liner is tough against that.

I would paint the fairing stay graphite grey and leave the triples silver. I think when the triples are painted black or anything other than the silver color of the fork tubes it looks off. If you were going to paint the fork tubes as well I think it would look good.

Now you know I don't care if you make a road trip down my way to get your Buell fix in.
You know I always have one just sitting.

Just curious - what are the LED lights above the tach for? Shift point? RPM's? Looks slick though.
