So I do own an 08 1125r but that is my baby and I am trying to make it into basically my sunday driver (or weekend warrior) and I have had ninja 250s in the past.
But as you know the ninja 300 has come out and the top notch one is a whopping 5500 $.
My question is, do you guys think that is worth what you get?

If you ride it, and like it if day get it! My first bike was a Suzuki gs500 and I loved it. Of course compared to my Buell is was underpowered, but as a little reliable bike to puts around town on it was perfect, handled just like a Buell as well. Honestly miss parts of that little 500 2 cylinder

Yes well a ninja 600 or a sc650 msrp at about 7 grand. So if I am spending 5500 I might go for the higher model. poor kawasaki and there bad way of merchandising.

For that much, nope. A used FZ6R garage queen can be had for like 5 grand, and it's the perfect around town upright bike with fairings and plenty of power imo

If you keep it several years, then yes. I have several motorcycles but will not be without a Ninja 250, period! It will take me a few years but I am sure I will eventually get a 300 as well, which may supplant the 250 or maybe? I will just have both. . Unless you have lived with a 250 Ninja for a period of time, then you just don't know what they are capale of. The 300 is everything the 250 is and more.

From everything I've heard about that 300, yes
the 300 is supposed to be improved massively over the 250 and the mileage is capable of over 100mpg but down to in the 50's if you run it open all the time.

ninja 650 is an overweight sv wannabe.
the 300 is pretty much what all the current 2008-2012 owners wish they had.
People have spent thousands on the 250 and I don't believe they've even broken the 40rwhp mark. This new engine is about the same power as a heavily modified 250, and that's with 87 octane......so yea, let the games begin!
$5500 may be for the ABS version. The 250's have held value extremely well so you may only save 500-700 waiting and buying a used 300 later.
So basically, if you like your bikes brand new and not messed with, then yea it's worth it :) but I wouldn't care for ABS...

Yeah IV had a 250r, zx6, zx10, zx6r, zzr600, zxr1200, zx636 and 650r over the past 10years but never a 500:) I like a nice kawi and I like to trade up every other year or so. My little brother is a mech at d and s kawi honda he's never got me a deal so far where I had to pay more than $3000 to walk out with a new one. I sold the 650r to get my second buell an 06' scg. That 650 regularly avg. 60mpg+ and I'm pretty sure it has optional ABS too but mine was 09' I don't think it was offered I wouldn't want it anyways. $1500 and I can't trail brake? U can keep ur ABS

If ur in Texas that time of year is coming up. Right after Christmas is the best time to buy and if you show up with cash expect another $500 off

Got family in Trent and inlaws up north around loyeland. What part of la u hail from raven? U might b closer to me than the south Texas guys. Have u ridden a cbr250? I rode 1 couldn't believe it was a 250. I'm sure u could find a 20mi 2012 leftover. I usually get the year old floor model that they're so ready to get rid of for space. U gotta walk n the dealership and act like u carry $5000 around every day there might b more in the other pocket kinda arrogant. They only make money if u ride out. Salespeople don't want u to realize this. Everything n the dealership is set up to give the impression that they're doing u this huge service by allowing u to buy one of their bikes. U might even have to say it to the salesperson so they understand that u understand. My brother once told me about how slow their sales r after Christmas til vday the sales people argue over who's customer it is til they hit the door.
