Hey everyone, I have an 06 Ulysses that has served me well but currently causing me a headache. I was having intermittent issues WI the right turn signal not functioning. After poking around I found in the harness behind the windscreen a factory splice with three brown wires that when wiggled corrected the problem. After resplicing this problem is now solved. Unfortunately as I was reassembling I noticed I no longer have any headlights high or low beam. This was not a problem prior to my turn signal repair. I poked around on the harness with no avail. Also removed and cleaned the two ground wires again no change. I also pulled out all the relays to just try and reseat them etc. I also checked the fuses and again they were good. If I unplug either of the plugs from the light the high beam indicator will turn off. Also if I hook up my multimeter to the plug it will show 12 volts. If I flip from low to high beam it drops to zero. This happens for either of the two lights. So with that said everything else is working fine I just need to sort out the headlights. I have found a number of similar posts but not quite the same as my experience. Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated. Thanks Scott
Scott, I think that symptom matches the ground wire for the headlights being broken. Given you were playing around in the loom for the indicator splice it is quite feasible you disturbed an already about-to-break wire. Tug lightly on each of the ground wires mounted on the bottom of the steering head - the wire can break internally and leave the insulation intact. If you do have a broken one you will feel it is stretching slightly when you tug on it.
BTW - in the exact same area as the spliced brown wires for the R/H blinker is a group of red wires spliced. Very common on the '06's for this splice to break and cause intermittent loss of odometer / clock settings in the speedo.
My '06 has 65K miles and I have all all of those ground wires break over time as well both the red and the brown splices.

Hey Rays I will continue the search. I think I will check the red as well since I have it all apart anyway. Thanks I will let know what I find. Scott

Rays I found it tonight and everything is back up and running. Ended up finding the ground wires going into one of the two eyelets. Thanks for the tip I really appreciate it.
