Hey Guys!
OK......I JUST now got back from a ride here in Pa. We actually had a DECENT day on a weekend for a change! Any ways, as it gets dark early now, I was coming across a dark back road and I noticed my headlight would change brightness...flicker? NOT go out, just change intensity of brightness...I know I've read a ton about the infamous #77 connector. Do you all suppose that's where my gremlin is living? I noticed earlier in the day, it did the typical "Harley" start after a fuel stop, (which ISN'T uncommon), but this one seemed like it REALLY had to work to get thru that first compression stroke! My terminals on the battery are tight, and those connections at both ends (battery and frame and solenoid) were cleaned about two months ago. I am posting this from my BlackBerry and doing a search on this thing is a pain in the ass. Could someone post a good pic of the connector for me...I understand from previous research, that there's a bunch of them under the cover. Mine is an '05 XB9SX. We are taking another long ride tomorrow, and I'd like to make sure I make it! I can't have a pack of Yamaha's /Stars making fun of me! This thing REALLY has me pissed! Its only 8 years old, it only has 28,000 miles on it, I baby it, (it only sees the rev limiter 3 or 4 times every time I ride it), and already I had to put a clutch cable, and brake pads on it, PLUS change oil and service it about 10 times!! Piece of ****!! (Detect the sarcasm?!). :D

Hi Everybody!
OK....who knows?! I pulled the cocer and unplugged every plug under there and put some Dielectric grease on them all. They ALL looked great! I pulled the ground cables off and scotchbrited the pads they sit on and re-installed. Fired it up with a voltmeter attached to the battery and it charges a ROCK SOLID 14.2-14.3 volts at ANY RPM above idle. Ran for a while at varying RPM. So....I GUESS it fixed?!! :D

just stay on top of the maintenance like you already are and she'll be fine, I have an '03 9s with over 56k, minus 2500 miles, I've put the rest on, my electrical issues have been a nearly cut wire in the harness next to the battery cables where the clamp holds 'em together, the screw for the clamp was too long and almost cut a wire, next came fuses, one due to the wire almost being cut and the other from the cooling fan and IAT sensor gone bad, also had a low fuel light issue of it staying on, but that all fine now. BTW, do you have a jumper to read the codes or ECMspy and cable to do the same? your manual list the parts needed for the jumper with pics or you can get one from ASB. the pins and wire are cheaper though.

Hi thrstmech!
Yeah....I hope its all good! The little bike has sure been good to me! No...I've never pulled any codes....hopefully it never comes to the point I have to though?! I'd like to learn more about ECMSPY....someday I'd like to tune the thing with a big-bore kit and cams, etc. I was shooting for next spring, but I don't see that happening! I too need to do the revised fuel pump harness...my pump runs all the time. (KOEOFF). That I WILL do this winter! Good to hear from you bud! :)
