2006 XB12Ss (long) engine in a 2004 XB12S

Hey, Was hoping someone would be able to answer a question.

I own a 2004 XB12S and am thinking of buying a 2006 XB12Ss (long) engine off a friend for my bike. Just wanted to ask if I would have any issues getting the XB12Ss engine in my bike. For example I know the XB12Ss (long) frame is a little different therefore are the mounting points the same or different. Also are there any differences between the 2004 and 2006 that would cause me problems. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks

Hey thanks squidebuellie. Thanks for the help. Now I just have to decide whether I want to buy the engine. I dont really need it at the moment but my xb has around 40 000 kms on it so i figured it may be handy to have.

Cool. Australia is definitely on my places to visit list. I was asking because my 2006 xb12ss was stolen a few Weeks ago here in the states and was just checking maybe your friend inadvertently bought it. Anyways you'll love the power of the twelve. Mine had around 55000 km on it and never had any mechanical issues with it.
