gap around ebr led tail light

ok so with out reveiling my tail chop yet I put in my ebr led tail light in today and there is about an 1/8" gap all around the lenses..... what's up with that? I'm kinda pissed about it..... just wondering if anyone else has this and what they did about it. I'm kinda thinking about welding a plate in the hole and then slowly opening it up to the exact size of the lenses so its nice and tight.....

When I put mine on, it fit just as well as factory, but that was on an R tail

You can't see it that great but the ebr light is smaller then the stock tail light

Cut the glue holding the clear lens on and take it off, put on the stock red lens and silicone the seam to keep moisture out. Done it before and it looks pretty good with the led lights.
