OK so having years of experience welding any type of material and being a supervisor at a Fab shop helps out with my mods quite a bit.... heres my tail chop

First I cut the bottom off

Then I cleaned out the inside

Then I welded up the inside..... filled all the nooks and crannies

Then I blended it smooth and made her all pretty.... it looks so good blended in and all the curves flow nice right around the bike..... so good infact I don't know if I want to put the turn signals on it..... any ideas?

That does look pretty good! [up]

Get a tail light w/ integrated signals and call it done. XBLights.com has the best ones on the market! See link to right >>>>>> (or bottom if on a smart phone)

Wow I can't believe no comments..... one of the few I've seen that wasn't just cut off and smoothed.....

Greasy, I think maybe I don't understand exactly what all was done to make it so much more different than most other tail chops, including my own?

Don't get me wrong, the final product looks great, but why all the bending inside? You won't see that part anyway?

Don't take this post the wrong way, I'm just curious as to what makes it so different? Maybe a little more elaboration would help? [up] seriously it looks good brotha!!

Ah OK I get that well I didn't really like the way it looked by just cutting it off so I if I ground it smooth it would actually break through the casting cause there isn't anything on the inside so what I did was weld up the inside to build the material up and then ground it smooth so those little kicks are gone. It flows straight from the seat struts right to the tail light

Ahhh, I see what you did. You can really see the difference with the lens in place! Looks really good! Very clean looking. I understand about the filler now.

Looks good![up]
