So after two long patient weeks this shows up on my doors step today.

First thoughts is it looked amazing.... matches finish pretty good and looks great. After I got it on the bike it was a different story. The rear is going to need to be sanded down to get it tighter to the frame and the front needs sanded down to get it to sit back farther. There is a a large gap around the top since it isn't sitting right. For $254 I'm not so sure I'm happy about having to modify it to work. Idk kinda pisses me off. I'll fix it and then it will look absolutely amazing!
Here is the gaps.....

Hey Dan I know what you mean, for $254 you would think it should fit perfect.

Mine fit the same way. I said screw it I was to scared to touch it.

Mine doesnt fit that bad you need to widen the holes a little bit side to side, the scoop need to go towards the back of the bike.

Whats so special about the Pegesus?!
I cant justify the "look" for that price, the $70 cheap right side prob does a well enough job.

I got mine for a $100 used, I would have ended up buying it for full price at some point though.
The pegasus looks OEM, the comfort kit scoop looks aftermarket which makes no sense to me because it is a OEM part.

Yeah the Pegasus matches the left side 100% the uly kit looks horrible to me..... doesn't match whatsoever I could bend a piece of Plexiglas in a u shape bolt it on and have the uly kit.
Don't hate some of us have different tastes...... I cant see spending $800 on a exhaust system so I made my own........

Have the same. Fits like a glove on my bike. It's a xb12ss. Don't know if the scoop fits a 12ss only. The frame sure is different.

Late model mini scoop FTW. I also think the uly scoop is somewhat unattractive(although it's grown on me), and didn't want to spend all that cash on a scoop, so the mini scoop it was. IIRC it was like $20 or less from HD. Sure not quit as good, but better than that stock shroud. I would be pissed too if I spend all that $$$ and it had fitment issues.

Hey hey hey, I resemble that remark! The beauty of the Uly kit is the money left over for other mods! AND unless someone is running circles around the bike specifically looking at the scoops, no one will ever know there's a difference :D
The Pegasus definitely looks better, no doubt, but damn that's expensive and for it not to fit is just unacceptable. Period.

Very little about our bikes is symmetrical, so why bother with the scoop? I'd like to add the Uly scoop to mine someday.

I wasnt hating! I just think its insane pricing to be exactly like the left scoop... That would imply it costs the same too. But nope, rape.

Wow, that pegasus really looks good when it fits snug in there. Have you tried contacting them with the problem?

Yeah I'm going to email him tonight.... before I start sanding....

$249 IS a lot to pay for something you still have to amend but the end result definitely looks much better than the Uly 1/2 Scoop (let's call it what it is) like most of us have.
Sure wish someone would come up with a happy medium: a right side scoop that's symmetrical to the left one but around $80-$100. Then again that wouldn't make it in to my top three wishes so, such is life.

xtremelow had them on a couple of his XB's over the years, they looked pretty tight.

OK now I'm getting pissed ..... he said that there is no problems with his scoops and kinda is blaming buell.... he wants pictures of the frame and where the tabs are mounted .... so I said **** it and cut the thing I'll post pictures later but I had to cut out a large chunk to even get it close and had to sand off a 1/4" to pull it up to the frame tight.

Why not just spend the $50 for the one from ASB?
I'm perfectly happy with mine :D

I cut about $75 worth of fiberglass or what ever the hell it is made of away it fits almost beautiful.....
I'm still pretty upset about it but what ya gonna do. I'm gonna fill in the parts I cut away with new fiberglass cause it seems pretty week but I'll find out tomorrow when me and rchuff go for a ride...... hopefully all this rain today wash the roads cause I'm ready to rip!

My '08 XB12S + Buell right side scoop 2 piece kit fit perfectly together. Ordered from the local Harley dealer for about a total of $65.
Search the detailed RSS threads. They list all the part numbers needed.

OK well this is my answer I got from him.....
No return or refund or partial refund since I cut it. Which I guess is my fault. He said my frame is probably bent or tweaked as buell used many different jigs to build the frames.
I guess its my fualt for cutting it buy still extremely pissed about this. $254 and I cut $75 worth of material away and now I have to strengthen it with some kind of thin aluminum and then fill in with fiberglass to make it complete again.
Maybe some of you want to think about this. He said I'm the only one who ever complained about it not fitting correctly but I'm sure there are others out there.
If I can't get it to fit right and be happy with it I'm just going to order the Harley two piece and add to it with poly sheets from a model hobby shop and make it match the left side.

I have seen pics of only a couple people that said they had fitment problems. I would have sent it back from the get go if it fit that bad.

Yo dan I would leave it on your bike no one would even know you had to cut it . Just strengthen the back a little, I thought it didn't look bad why put out more money for a scoop yours works . it's your bike and you do what you want but all it is doing is grabbing air . Post a pic of it on the bike and post it on the forum and see what the guys think .

greasyxb9s, any update on the progress of this? how does it look and have you talked anymore with the guy from pegasus about it? Just wondering because I really like the look of the pegasus but if I am going to run into what you did on a $260 part i will go with the ASB $61 scoop. thanks

04-22-2013, 06:02 AM
Well from what he said he will issue a refund if it doesn't fit right but idk if its worth the money anyway. That's up to you I'll post some more pictures tonight but mine still needs a lot of work to make it so I'm happy with it.
