Not sure if this is the best place to post this question, but I'm new here and have a question. I just ordered some aftermarket parts, one being the race ECM from EBR for my XB12s (Drummer SS exhaust). I ordered the ECM for a 2008 because that's what my title said when I bought the bike. I just noticed that the manufacture sticker on the frame says the bike was manufactured in 2007? Can this mean that the title is wrong or is this an early release of the 08? Any clarification would be much appreciated.

This is a little bit of a silly question. But welcome to the forum. Pictures are gold here, and youre just a wannabe until you prove it.
most vehicles are produced the year before, and released as the next years models. Mine was produced in 07 as well but its a 2008 model. Another way you can tell is your oil pump (right side case where oil lines enter) will be an oval shape, that was a big change for 08 models.

It's kinda like cars 2014 models will be out for grabs soon even tho it's 2013 it's still a 14 model :)

I know in the automotive world, for the most part anything produced from 07/2007 on would be a 2008 model and anything 06/2007 and earlier would be a 2007.
Anyway, easiest way is to check your VIN, if the tenth digit is an 8 then its a 2008 ;)

Thanks for all the quick responses. I checked the oil pump and it is oval. Also, I did some research on the VIN and found out that the 8 stood for 2008 as well. One thing I didn't know is that is an CG model. I was told it was just an S and am new to Buells so I didn't notice the deeper seat. I am a bit on the taller side at 6' so I hope this doesn't affect comfort/rideability.

In response to your pics r gold comment, I'm sorry to say I have no pics of the Buell yet, but maybe this can explain why it's a space craft to me. Here are a couple pics of my bike for the last 5yrs. It's a I '67 Triumph Bonneville 750cc.. completely hand fabbed by me from the frame up. Doesn't even have a battery, just a kick start, magneto and stater to run the 2 lights on the bike (headlight & tail light)...bought the Buell to keep up with my buddies Dyna on the mountain twisties! http://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/16458_20130412175327_L.jpghttp://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/16458_20130412175415_L.jpg
