OK so I'm really thinking about doing a wideband O2 install and tuning with it.....

For this kit for a reasonable price and I can leave it permanently installed on the rear.
My question is for tuning do you just watch the gauge and add and subtract fuel from where it needs to be adjusted? Or do I still log with ecmspy?
Some hep would greatly appreciated.... I think I'm gonna order the kit at the end of the month

I guess the direction I'm going with this is to permanently install and tune the bike
I guess from what I read I can disable the learning capabilities on the ecm and let the wb sensor send signals to the data log then adjust the maps and keep it that way so the ecm can't change anything I'll have the afr gauge on all the time so I can keep an eye on it..... like to bring around 13.5 all the time.....

You can buy the Innovate kit and log/tune on your XB BUT...
Why do you want to run a 13.5:1 AFR all the time?

I'm lucky enough to work at a shop that has a Dyno (dynojet250) that I can use at will for my own stuff. When I tune my bike I also plan on turning off the o2 sensor. I'll set my maps at 13.8 for 0-20% up to 3500rpm then everything else is 13.0 This will be my first ecmspy tune but I have done lots of power commanders, SERT, SEST, TTSM, Direct Link so I'm sure I'll have learning curve with it but can't be that big of a deal.

Run a it a bit richer then stock.....
How do you log data with it though? Do you do it through ecmspy or through innovate software?

Why do so many people think it's good to tune for an excessively rich A/F ratio and/or leave the O2 sensor disabled once the tune is completed? Other than burning more fuel, a richer mixture during lower throttle positions and rpm is pointless. It does not make the engine run cooler or have any other benefit.
Disable the O2 sensor, tune for stoich everywhere except the top two throttle position rows, tune for ~13:1 - 13.5:1 at WOT, then enable the O2 sensor again. The ecms already have a % correction factor for open loop running conditions, factory set to 105%, so that will give you ~14:1 A/F ratio in open loop areas except WOT.

Working in the Dyno today here are a few runs. One is 10% throttle 14.7 vs 13.8 then at 3.5k it drops to 13.0 then the other is 40% 14.7 vs. 13.0 huge difference no some difference yes. This is on a Harley FYI

That information can easily mislead people. The goal of part throttle engine operation is not to achieve maximum power, which only happens at A/F ratios richer than stoichiometry, but to achieve maximum efficiency and runability, which happens at A/F ratios at or leaner than stoichiometry. Those dyno charts only show that the engine running at two different fuel efficiencies and do not include any info that implies ideal runability. Maximum power should only be evaluated at throttle positions and rpm where hard acceleration takes place.

full ack, but otoh, focussing on rideability, running a tad richer decreases the cycle-by-cycle variation of ignition delay and in sequence reduces engine hesitation.
