So, a few months ago my 07 stt was cutting in and out. Popped off the air box and found the engine temp sensor wire was getting shorted and rubbed through the wire covering. Put some electrical tape over it and it ran fine. Two weeks ago was on a poker run and it started doing it again only it would just die. Pulled the air box to check the wire and found nothing new. I assumed it was bad gas but nothing has improved it.
Today I got a wild hair and thought I would let it idle to see what it did. It was warming up for two minutes when the motor dies... No engine light just dead...
I turn it back on idles for another 30 seconds and it throws a flashing red check engine light, kills the bike, and dumps on the cooling fan. I'm thinking "YES! It has to be the temp sensor! I can fix that!" Hook up ecm spy and found a code 11 (tps short) 15 (air sensor) 44 (bas).
So... Now I don't know what to think. Could the battery be the cause? Regulator?
