I have an 2004 XB12S, 4K miles. I just bought this and know little about "Buell Character" so I would like to see if there is a Buell friendly shop around Shelby, NC. It seems to ride well but it makes noises that I am not sure if they need to be addressed or if they are typical Buell noises lol. If you know of a shop near by that could take a look around let me know. I did the typical new plugs, oil, battery, bolt check and have since rode about 500 miles. Thanks for the help

I hope you find something my friend. My local HD shop is absolutely zero help for parts & they wanted to charge me $400 to do the fluids change. I checked into having it done by them due to the fact I didn't know anything about a V-twin when I first got it. This forum is an amazing source of info & you can find the answer to pretty much any question you could imagine. What noises are you referring to?

I hear ya Matt, lots of great info here. I no issue wrenching on it but it would be nice to have someone familiar with Buells to ride it and say "yup, all normal stuff". Biggest issue is a clacking sound at around 2K rpm mostly under load. It goes away at high rpm's, maybe its just me lugging it. There is also a naoise at idle but could just be normal piston/crank noise, I'm used to four tiny pistons moving around not two huge ones. Also front dive seems like excessive, maybe Im used to my CBR600rr front end. I would like to know if it needs fork oil or what-not. What I'm hearing is HD Dealerships might not be the most knowledgeable/helpful spot for Buells.
