Trade D&D For Race?

Hi!

I just bought a 2003 XB9S. I LOVE it.

The previous owner had the dealer installed race kit (filter, map, exhaust), but he also got a D&D exhaust for it. I'd like to trade for the original exhaust that came with that kit if possible, I do a lot highway commuting on this bike and I'm having a hard time getting over the headache inducing loudness of the current pipes.

I'm near Philadelphia, PA if you're interested.

Also, if this is in the completely wrong place to post this, where should this post go? I don't see a classifieds section.

I would be interested in that... the race pipe has one dent on the bottom and one ball peen hit on the right tip cover where it was hitting my idler.

Ya you can't see them unless u know they are there. problem with the pics are is im on the road for work till Friday and ill just be home for the night but i can for sure get pics maybe even get it off so if your game i can have someone ship it while im gone. but i would also like a pic if available

Haha, no I don't already have the race exhaust stensg. The old owner installed the d&d and I didn't get the original race exhaust when I bought it (I guess he misplaced it or something)
So I only have the d&d right now.

I can wait until Friday, in the meantime I'll upload a few pics of my exhaust. What is the process to remove the exhaust?

Should I send along that bracket that's visible in the picture? Or is that the stock one?
What else should I send along, and what do you need to send along so that I don't have to buy anything extra?

T 27 takes off chin guard. 7/16 takes off 3 band clamps and a 9/16 takes off muffler clamp you keep the mounts on the bike just make sure that clamp small clamp stays with the pipe and the big band clamps stay with the bike

Ok cool, so the rear clamp (near the muffler tips) goes to you with the pipe and the other clamps which are hidden in the pics stay with the bike?

And the funny half moon mount thing that the rear clamp goes around stays with the bike as well?

I noticed also that the D&D exhaust is fairly expensive... would $100 plus the trade be fair?

If you're wanting to go to either a factory race can or a stock unit, yes, you will need to keep that.

Oh ok I used to work on Germantown like near 363 junction I now that area down there pretty well my family is from limerick and royersford areas

The small clamp where the header connects to the muffler stays with the pipe everything else stays with the bike large band clamps and half moon front and rear.
and how about 75 since it seemed as a straight trade at first?
and ya im not sure on the mailing procedure. how about i ship the my muffler once you send me say 400. Then when you get the pipe ill send you 475 to cover extra cost of your pipe when you get the money you send me yours. that's my best idea

Once I get yours and I let you know that I'm ready to ship mine out, you can pay whatever you received (400 minus the fee) plus the 75.

Oh, are you ok using Paypal? It can and has been used for scams in the past, though I'm not sure what else we could use for this.

It's a really interesting scam.

- first they buy something from a seller for some amount of money (usually on craigslist), they say that they can't come in person, and they're sending someone else to get it
- they claim that Paypal is the only method they can use and demand to use it
- once the transaction is complete they start sending emails saying that the item was wrong or is broken and demand their money back
- after many threat emails if the seller doesn't comply they file a claim with Paypal and Paypal refunds their money
- however, they refuse to send the item back... and at this time Paypal doesn't have any protections for the seller for this

I think we're going to be fine though, since we are both sending money, meaning we will both have buyer protection from Paypal. (at least that's what it seems like to me)

That's a cool trade. But man, I would never send my race pipe til I had the D&D in hand..I can always go out and buy a new D&D easy with money..can't go out and buy a new race pipe! I'm always hesitant because I've been scammed [down]

Why can't you just buy the race pipe? Could/Can it only be obtained in the race package?

They are no longer produced, therefore pretty rare..I'm sure members on here are reliable, but I know it took me forever to find a race can and I'll never let it go lol!

Nice trade though, their my favorite two exhaust!
