Ok I am stumped...I have an 08 1125r and the battery light keeps coming on when at idle at a stop light or so. I have had my stator rewound and put a used voltage regulator on from eBay. (May be bad but the guy said it was good) when I switch the wires on the VR to by pass it the light stays off and shows I am charging just fine. Could this be a bad VR or would the charging rotor trip the light? Also could this just be a fault in the computer and if so can I reset the ECM.

If your battery is good, I would think it is the VR. I had a similar issue and put in a new VR when i upgraded to the EBR rotor and haven't had any issues since.

1. what do you mean by "when I switch the wires on the VR to by pass it"
2. with engine off: check continuity of each of the (3) windings of the rotor at the plug under the seat I beleive its 3 yellow wires (you should have close to 0 ohms - if they are fine)
3. with the engine off: check each phase against ground or (-) terminal of the battery (you should have OL - overload)
3. with engine running: check AC voltage at the same stator terminals between each phase ( I beleive it should be around 30V AC and make sure you measuring AC not DC)
4. with engine running: measure DC voltage at the output of the regulator you should have around 14V DC
