2007 xb12stt -sounds worse that a vw - won't run

So this is a new bike. I ran it out of gas and now it is riding rough and won't stay running. I reset the computer, it ran a little but not dependable. I checked all the way down to the plugs all looked good so I put it back together and she started up seemed fine. Now it's not running, at about 3000 rpms it starts sputtering and dies. It only has 5200 miles on it and has been excellent up to this point. Any info would be much appreciated- the seasons will be changing, my old lady has not had a chance to ride and I got to get to work! - Thanks guys Aaron

Possibly check fuel pump filter.. if you ran it empty and there was any garbage in the tank it could have settled into the filter causing poor flow..

What do you mean you reset the computer?

Check the ground wires behind the flyscreen right on the steering stem. They are known to break and cause poor running.

You could also check and see if your fuel pump wires are pinched (inside the frame). I know that has happened before.
