Lightning seat

Hey all, thinking of buying a replacment straight cut seat for my lightning, getting bored with the low cut one. I have a chance to get one off a 2007 lightning, anyone know for sure if it will fit my 2003?. The pics show a metal tab at the front of the seat, my 2003 seat doesnt have it. Dont want to spend $200 on a seat that doesnt fit.

Sounds like that is a Ss seat, I believe they have metal tab at the front. It wont fit.

Any year 2003-2010 Lightning Seat will fit, excluding the Ss, and Stt.

$200 for a standard stock seat sounds a bit high. New through HD they run around $90 for the low last time I checked.

Many Harley dealerships can still get new seats for $88 plus shipping. I ordered my tall seat (1AJ) from New Castle HD. I have an extra mid height M0090.1AC which are okay (accidently ended up with 2), but I prefer the soft/tall seat. The tall seat fits my 6' frame better and keeps my legs and butt a bit further from the rear cylinder heat.

Here's the research I've done on all the seats for the Lightning.

N0025.1ASYW Solo urban assault (does this fit standard rails?)
M0076.1AC ???
M0076.1AD Smooth Low?
M0076.3AE Lightning Low - lowest seat available
M0090.1AD Smooth version of medium height?
M0090.1AC "Skyline" medium height (textured)
M0090.1AJ Tall seat smooth surface, very soft.
N0025.1AJYW Textured tall?

Here's the research I've done on all the seats for the Lightning.

That's for that info Frawg, still trying to hunt down a used one but if I have to make the trip to the local dealership "who will shun me as usual because Im riding a buell" that list will come in handy.

seat P/N: M0090.1AJ, tallest seat, somewhat soft, over a period of time it will feel like it's cutting into your inner thigh, it's a bit wider than stock seat also

also try surdyke.com or LSHD1.com, these two sites and newcastlehd.com are the best prices for the seats
