well it happened.

the story goes; I'm riding to work and as I come off the interstate there are 3 lanes. the car that was in front of me stopped at the bottom of the exit loop, in the far right lane (where hwy traffic merges) as i started to move over a lane he decides that is the best time to make an illegal u-turn on a double yellow line. now he's sitting perpendicular to the street and is blocking all 3 lanes. I have no where to go but...down. I tried to stop but the bike started to low side, then caught traction and highsided on the right side. I went from about 30mph to about 10 when the bike actually fell. the bike kinda just bucked me up and fell beneath be and I land on me feet.
I was at least 3 seconds behind the guy when he began his foolishness, and thats all the time it took for this to happen.

Luckly I'm okay and the bike is ridable considering i have no right side foot peg and a sticky throttle. the frame puck did its job for sure.

here are some pics

the section of the foot peg that broke off was actually sticking into the asphalt. my day would have been a lot worse had any part of me been between.

thats my story guys.
Im okay and will be back on two wheels as soon as I can get everything sorted out.
im going to be investing in a ride along camera soon just so i can have proper documentation of my rides.
stay safe.

Glad to hear you are good and the bike is fixable. Always a good day when you can walk away and give the "cager" a finger.

I had one road drop (nothing major) and a track spill also not bad. I would recommend 50dro's case slider kit. I had it when I went down on the track and it saved the important bits. Have the pucks, barends, axle sliders, and 50dro's kit, over is worth protecting my bike. I'm not affiliated with him, just bought the case sliders and they were a nice addition to my existing protection.

As mentioned, good to hear you walked away. Bike is much easier to replace.

Cheers!

Do you use a GoPro Or something similar? I often wonder if using these would be useful as evidence to the cops?

I would have liked the camera because there were no witnesses and driver of the car tried to tell the cop i was speeding -_- the police report isn't exactly correct in the positioning of the vehicles but it stated that I was FORCED to lay the bike down, so i think thats a good thing?

at first the cop was kinda a dick to me, so it would have been nice to show him the footage and be like "this is what that asshole did!"
with footage you can always file for an affidavit.
Im leaning more towards the contour hd ghost instead of the go pro, its way cheaper, and has a screen on it.

also the guy could have just taken off and i wouldn't have had time to take a pic of his plates.

Frigging cagers!!!!!! I have kicked a door or 2 after being cut off or run off the road(steel toe boots work nice) cause people think they own the road and don't have to pay attention.
