I just purchase a used 2003 Buell XB9S today. Its in great shape minus the LED turn signals not working and a few other minor details. I was told that I just needed a new diode and it would work fine. None of the turn signals work as of now which seems weird to me. Would this be correct if just one light is broken? I found a new set of LED turn signals on ebay but just wanted to see what everyone else had to say first.

Hello & welcome!

As with any aftermarket electronics you inherit on a bike, you're never sure who did the wiring or how well it was done. I'd check the connections, and ideally, refer to the schematics in the shop manual to ensure the signals were wired correctly. LEDs are polarity-sensitive.

Congrats on the new bike. Try the flasher relay and see if that's the problem. Its right behind the flyscreen and you can pick up a new plug and play one from AutoZone for 15 bucks. Its an ep-36. Make sure its for led lights 3-6 bulb I believe.

I'll check out the flasher relay. I wanted to get behind there anyway to do the hi/low beam mod. My only concern is the previous owner installed Xentec HID's. Would it still be ok to have the hi and low beams on at the same time?
