Hey everyone I posted a while back about my bike restarting itself. Well I finally tracked down what's causing the problem. If I turn the bars all the way to the right nothing happens. When I turn them all the way to the left the gauges and clock and all that restart themselves like I'm turning the key on. I took off the wind screen and the fuse box cover and discovered that the big key switch fuse clicks when the bars are turned to the left and everything resets itself. I also have a fuel light on constantly which I know is the bad wires from other posts I've read up on (fixing that soon). Any close what's causing the reset when the bars go left? I've already swapped the fuses around and have been checking all grounds. Thoughts??? Thanks everyone. Safe riding 2013.

Just in case anyone is wondering I have a 2007 xb12ss. Thanks

Unwrap your wire harness in that area, and I would bet you have a number of chafed wires that are shorting to each other. Also, take the flyscreen off, and watch how the harness moves when you move the handlebars. Check wherever there is a tight radius, or it even looks like it rubs on something. That would be my first look. If you need more help, post a pic of the front with the flyscreen off. We might be able to help you a bit more from that.

Also, look at where the harness comes into the box under the speedo. There might be some chafing from the small bracket that holds the harness in place.

Lighting grounds on the front of the frame behind the headlight bucket, there are 4 wires crimped into 2 ring terminal connectors

Thanks guys, got it figured out it was a loose ground and a wire being pinched. No more resetting as of now and on to the fuel light issue sometime soon.
