A bunch of riders out at Scott AFB ( all bike types) are putting together a ride up the river road with a stop at Fast eddies, on the 28th. Ive talked to a few local Buell riders (Made a post on Craiglist STL) And have invited them to join us. We will be meeting at the front gate of Scott AFB at 1045 and roll out at 1100.
 
After the latest ROC debacle, I really don't want to ride in a group larger than 3-5 riders at the most. I get the whole "I wanna be a hooligan" thing, but I guess I'm getting old and curmudgeonly in my twilight years and want nothing to do with large group rides. I've seen the pack mentality first hand and it's just not pretty when crap goes sideways.

Man, I would totally be down but I am going to be at Gateway for the NHRA drag races that weekend. Next time!
 
ROC gets crazy. I have a whole bunch of friends from KC that go to STL each year for ROC...oh the stories I hear, haha.
 
D Adams your a puiss and you are misrepresenting this group. What have you been smoking? We road as a group of 12 Buells and had a great safe time, no raping chicks, selling crack or cutting off cops just good clean fun.

D adams. This will be alot of Harley guys also. Not just sportbikes, Plus some of us in the Military will have our bosses, like Colonels and there may be a General, that my ride. SO the last we are going to do is Dumb ****.
Also if people want to act stupid they are not invited. Plus Im to old to be screwing around and causing trouble.We are just looking to go and have a good time , and get some miles in before the cold weather sets in. Your still invited!

That's not the ride that was posted on YouTube where hundreds and hundreds of crotch rockets flooded "STL" is it? Doing all kinds of stupid stuff, running red lights and acting like it was there personal road?

Looked like someone threw a smoke bomb in a bee hive and they all only had one way to get out.

At least I think that was "STL"

rah7777777, ROC= Ride of the Century Yep, that's the one with all the wannabe stunters. The local police are just itching to arrest or harass riders while the "event" is going on, as well as the week prior and following. What I don't get about it is, it was supposed to be THE ride of the CENTURY, not a yearly event just to be an a$$hat. Well, I guess that doesn't stop some people from doing it all the time.
 
If you let the actions of others dictate your future you will not have a desirable future. Your judging everyone by the actions of a few. You need to check yourself and think that there were thousands of people and there were about 20 who got really crazy. I have gone two years in a row with my girl on back and we had a great time with out cutting off cars or hurting anyone. It was an experience that i would not give up for anything.

Motorcycles are notorious for bad boys and girls. You have to understand that even though we may be adrenaline junkies but we also have kids and jobs and a life outside of riding, so we can have fun and be responsible at the same time.

The newS was fear mongering because it makes more exciting news. That sells better then saying 2000 motorcycle rides were responsible and a few were reckless!! Boring.

Instead they are like " HOLY **** ITS THE END OF THE WORLD MOTORCYCLE MADNESS KILLS 20,000 PEOPLE!! TUNE IN TONIGHT AT 10PM!!! OMG! I Need to watch that!! Suckers!
 
Keith, I've been riding for 30 years. NOBODY is dictating my future on how or where I ride, I do. It is MY choice not to go ride with them, I can just go in the opposite direction, just like I normally do. I'm not quite sure why you're getting your panties in a twist over this. I'd rather hit the back roads and use my bike the way it was intended, not ride the freeways.

Do you remember who led that ride from the wall downtown, once we got off the freeway?
 
If that's the same ride I watched a video of, I'd say it was far more then a few riders acting like pieces of **** giving all us other riders bad names.

Not all I'm sure, but plenty in the video I watched.

I go the opposite direction of the ricer packs as well though... More often then not you will find some idiot starts acting up.

There's a day in the summer here where the ricers shut down a highway in "remembrance" of a fellow rider who died.
While I'm glad they are remembering their lost friend, I don't applaud shutting the highway down to do burnouts and wheelies while every car on the road has to sit and wait for them to finish acting like idiots. Find a parking lot!!

I would applaud a semi driver if he felt the same way and played bowling with those dumb ***** though.
 
This ride still on? It looks like the weathed will be fantaztic and I'm looking forward to it.
