That's what it felt like today, Something is wrong with the heat output. It was at 190* on the highway and 208* in traffic. The high fan does not kick on till 200 degrees and by then its melting my boots. This seems wrong for a liquid cooled bike and riding is not even fun when its literally burning my legs.

Full of coolant + ice additive. Stock ECM/tune and exhaust and no heat sheild.

Is this normal temp for a stock 08?[mad]

check your fluids. I run 160-180 running around and 195 Max in traffic. sometimes ill even shut it off if im sitting for too long.

Left fan runs right around 180* and right fan (im assuming the high fan) runs at 200*

Does the EBR ECM just change the the temp that the fans kick on?

It changes the fuel map and the fan on off times helps dramatically. Also if you don't have tank grip pads i highly recommend them.

My fan wouldn't kick on until 220* on my CBR. I would run pretty consistant 185* on the highway. During the 100* days, it would run around 190*

How many miles on your bike? I have a 2008, and depending on the day, it can get pretty warm. In town during a hot day going from light to light, I have seen 220... however once I get moving it goes down below 210. this is typically in the afternoons when temps are in high 90s though. I took mine out yesterday for a 500 mile ride, and temps didnt get above 182...

The reason I asked about the miles is mine just got the 30K service done to it, and they did a complete flush of the coolant. I noticed that toward the last 5K miles before the service it was running a bit hotter. I had them add a race coolant when it was serviced, and since then it has run significantly cooler.

What kind of 'race coolant' did they flush your bike out with agfish?? I have been looking around to find some really good coolants through the forums and hadn't seen any.

I have considered using this -

but I want to do a little more investigation into it first - it will be a winter job.
