i got some inexpensive pads off of e bay to try..omg!! i have never seen so much brake dust after one ride!
and after some really hard riding my brakes faded on a downhill section..scared the heck out of me!
i am not sure if i need to invest in brembos..or if i can just put some other pads on and be good.
i think my rotors are glazed over like a jelly donut now..gonna have to clean em up and replace the aweful pads.
i am guessing i need ones with moree metal in them?
thanks guys!

we stock the HH EBC pads for all buells and i've sold alot to board members. they cost $82 for both sets and that includes freight. what redrider said on friction coefficient. they really are great pads but maybe someone else like amazon has them for less. if you want sets just mail me. regards, john

I have heard a few guys say the Lionel Gold (spelling/correct name?) pads are the best, the previous owner of my bike had installed them a week before I bought it and they are great

the Lionel Gold (spelling/correct name?)
lyndall gold pads
I just put the EBC HH on my 03 xb9 and they are awesome compared to the Nissin HH that the guy I bought it from had on her. They were fairly new but I didn't feel confident on the feel/fade of the braking. I did a lot of reading on this site and the other one before I decided to change them. I wasn't sure if that was the XB brakes or what... With the EBC's the brakes work like I thought they should. I'm new to the XB family but I have had several bikes and have tried different pads and now only use the EBC HH. I will add that my back brake will squeak on occasion but I have had no noise from the front.

^^^what they said
When I first got my 07 12R the front brake pulsed horribly. I thought I needed to replace the rotor. I put some EBC HH (sintered) pads on. A few hundred miles later the pulsing was all but unnoticable. It did take a long time for them to wear in though. For about the first hundred or so miles the pads would rub with zero pressure applied at lever. This bothered me but eventually went away. Let us know what you decide on.

My brakes pulsed before i took my rotors and took off the glazing and made them flat again..i had the ebr kit for the front rotors and they were loose fitting..eventually i bitched about it and they sent me a new set which fit correctly..the rotor didnt moce around by hand as before.
I just took my sander and went at the rotor..then put new pads on..and they were smooth finally and were good for the life of the pads..i found out using the cheap pads didnt work as well at all.
