Well, I am finally home and want to take the Lightning out but I am unable due to the registration issue. It just will take time. For those who don't remember, the bike was from Oregon and has less than 7k miles so CA won't register it. So now I have to go through my home state (FL) to do so but it takes a while.

Anyways, the purpose of this thread is because I am 5'7 and although I can tip-toe the bike, I still feel it is too high for me. I did see something here about people talking about changing seats which makes it lower but I can't seem to find it. Hell, I can't even find search button. What iis this seat and how do I find it?

Hey man congrats on finally getting the bike out and enjoying it. If you get some pictures up might be easier to see what you do and do not have for options on your buel but the seat you are talking about is the lighting low seat. Vs the lighting comfert seat. The low sits your riding position down like half an inch and personally is what I use and love but the comfert seat is definitely easier on the bum for distance riding. Here's the visual difference.

And here's the low

I don't have any pictures of just the seat.http://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/15552_20130702001337_L.jpg
Ooo here's a good side by side.

o wow that is a difference. Interesting indeed! Looks like I will be getting that! Thanks! I thought the Lightning Low Seat was something else compared to what people were talking about but I see it here on buellparts that it is a 1" lower.

Now for comfort in distance riding, that is fine as I don't go out too far on rides anyways. I would prefer a cruiser for that. Once I get more things going with the bike I will be submitting some pictures and possibly some videos but right now it is not "legal" to take bike out as it isn't registerd. "legal"

M0090.1AJ...tallest seat made for the Lightning

M0090.1AC and N0025.1AJYW...Skyline seat...looks like the low seat, but taller

M0076.3AE and M0076.1AD...low seat, lowest of them all

51891-03Y...Streetfighter seat

51906-06Y...Select seat

info gathered from Buell accessories catalogs between 2007 and 2010, seats were interchangeable between the years, will not fit the long models or Uly's

I have a low seat (SCG ) that I'd be willing to part with..

damn, already ordered the low seat rah77777777777777777777777777777777777. Now I am trying to figure out another issue. Think my battery is losing its charge. Light goes from bright to not so bright. But I can't wait for my seat as it would help me reaching the kickstand.

buy an scg shock for the rear and slip the forks 3/4 inch. If you're not racing/track, should be just fine for suspension travel... that's my plan this winter.

Just be careful Wayne. You can bring your front forks up like that just know it's going to change the bike and the way it wants to turn. Will be faster and more snappy if you bring your forks up the tree.
