I'm surprised there isn't a thread for this already. But thats OK, just wanted to shoot a thanks to all the fellow vets out there. There may not be all that many people out there that truly appreciate what we do but we do it anyways, for our friends, our family, and our country. Because we love them and want to protect everything we have!

Thank a veteran today, and give thanks to all those who lost their life to maintain our freedom.

Happy Veterans Day.

I lost a high school buddy, and our country lost a great man, at Pashmul in Afghanistan on May 6 2008.

Lest we forget...

I would like to thank all the veterans on this site. And I will always do what I can. From buying gas, dinners, snacks, groceries, etc... out of the blue, the simple day to day stuff just because I can and I'm there. My wife and I feel that this is the least that we can do for such an under appreciated group. I know that our veterans need and deserve more that the simple thing that we can afford to pay for, but I don't believe in charities, to many six figure salaries get paid out of them and not to the cause. I'll stop before I get into a rant on charities. I try to say thank you to all veteran that I see young and old. We all owe them for everything we have.

i know this is late but had to share.... i was on my way back to dresbach, mn to my new job with the corps of engineeres. i had stopped in ceder rapids, ia to grab a quick bite at applebees. its cool that they do the free meal for vets. as i was enjoying my steak and the company of my waitrees, another employee asks if i was a vet. i said yes. he thanked me and put a veterans day card on my table. told him thanks. when i read the card it was from an 8 year old girl from the local school. it was colored in crayon and the message on the back was to. she wrote thank you for what you do and happy veterans day. it brought a tear to my eye.
thank you all that support us, thank you to vets that came before me. and to my brothers and sisters in arms, i got your back. when in doubt frag out
