A married couple from the city I live in and were/are also customers of mine were involved in a tragic accident Sunday. They were riding in a group and a car turned in front of them according to the news article, but the story is being told that the gentleman that turned in front of them actually dropped a cigarette and as he was reaching down for it, turning into the oncoming traffic. Chris King was a Physicians Assistant at one of my cardiology clinics and his wife is a nurse at one of my OB/GYN clinics.

He passed away immediately at the scene and she suffered severe injuries. She will recover after lengthy and difficult challenges ahead.

They were known to be avid and extremely safe riders. Just goes to show, some accidents are unavoidable. Both were wearing helmets.

Prayers for their family!

RIP, and wishes for a quick recovery. A sad reminder that oncoming left-turning vehicles are statistically the most likely cause of collisions with other vehicles...Â*[sad]
