So I'm just putting my bike back together after removing the frame from the motor couple weeks ago. I have a 09 cr with the stock clubmen's on it and stock cables. Understand when I took this bike apart it was 100% working bike. I know all the parts are right and it all should work. I have a service Manuel(I first did and ran everything as they say)(they don't say much) but I can get the cables to function perfectly from lock to lock and snap back like crazy. But then I go to try and put the headlight on and pretty much instantly once that head light touches those cables they bind up and stick. Now obviously iv played around with the cables tried a lot of different things took them off put them back on, lubrcated them (with cable lube), ran them in different places none works as good as how the Manuel states but still I can't get my cables to not bind at any degrees to the left. It works fine if the wheel is straight or to the right. But any hint of going left my trottle instantly sticks and I guess all I can see is it's because of the headlight plain and simple. There just isn't room for the cables to wiggle like they need to. Any suggestions anyone? please? Haha.
I just had to stop and walk away for a few days. Iv had several people work on it and one being a master machanic still just got pissed off and had to walk away. This is the only thing stopping me from not having my bike. Iv already got everything else done and accounted for and I started it and all runs perfect. no codes. I said to my self tomorrow I'm taking it to our local harley buell dealer and make them do it. I called them and the first thing they suggested was put high bars on it. And I don't want to do that.
