ive had my buell 1125r for about a year now. ive takin to many harley dealerships and nobody really knows awhole lot about it. but it seems there is a knocking sound coming from the bottom end maybe?? [sad] gets really bad thru 3000-4500 rpm almost like a really loung pinging. Some say "oh yea thats a buell for ya" then i get "jesus that thing runs like that???" its been like that ever since i bought it. no problems. is this normal? what makes this noise? can i fix it?

its a 2009 with 6000 miles if that matters in this case. still fairly new, never been laid down or nothin.

They are noisy. Some might say it like rocks rolling around in your crankcase.

I believe it has some think to do with the rockers. I put 3000 on mine this past summer and no worries.

My 09 cr did the same thing, sounded like a sewing machine. I put 20,000 miles on it before I sold it.

My XB has the noisest engine I've ever heard. It runs like a raped ape and I've put thousands of miles on it with no change in noise.
I know yours is an 1125, but just thought I'd mention my experience. I've grown to love all the ticks, hisses, and clanks mine makes :)

get some ear plugs...
Really though, if I don't ride with them all I focus on is all the noises and wont push the bike, once I have them in all I hear is the bikes exhaust/intake screaming and can once again ride it hard. I'm with you though, if I hear all the different noise I start to freak out that the motor is going... I've put on 6k since I bought my Xb12Stt and its been trouble free. Try running Amsoil in it and see if it quiets the bike some.

Have you checked the rotor nut?
