How would an 04 XB12R stock exhaust perform on a 03 XB9S?

It fits but why? The exhaust is heavier and has a valve which won't work on your bike. I purchased a 9 exhaust for my 12 for the valve elimination and lighter construction.

Oh I didn't know it was heavier. My xb9s' muffler is looking rusty and I've came upon a good looking xb12r stock muffler.
Thanks for letting me know.

if you can get it for a good price, I say go ahead, just send it to hawk to get it gutted. it will sound better, won't use a valve system, and it will be lighter afterwards.

I can get it for free. But will I have to mod anything on the xb9s if I get it gutted?

Also, how much will it cost?

Get it gutted by Randy Hawk, you won't need the valve. Your ecm will require remapping which Randy will send to you. Do you have a cable? If not you can order one for 40$. Ecmspy is quite easy to use. Let's us know if you have any questions

I have the stock ECM, can that be remapped? Because if so then I'll think I'll go ahead and do it. I'll have to purchase the cable also because I have not messed with the ECM before.

its def something you should get familiar with. I've been learning it all winter and at first is scary, and intimidating but slowly Im figuring it all out. and the hawk should run you around 175. that and a k&n will be a very nice improvement for you.
