Turn on/off between 10-15mph but is there a temperature variable in there as well?

Looking to duplicate their fan programming for my bike.

I can email you my stock 2010 ECM bin file if you want to look into it yourself, if so PM me your email

If somebody has an EBR ECM and a cable I can walk them through to download the data and email it to me. I can analyze and let you know. Just need someone with a cable and about 10 minutes of time. I can provide the software and instructions to do it.

I have a 09 EBR race ecm that has the updated fan program. Ill try and pull it off using ecmdroid. It will be next week when can get the file (put of town right now)

Im trying to reprogram my stock ecm w/ that fan profile and them tuning the stock ecm better to suit my mods than the EBR ecm was.

Ecmdroid and a bluetooth module has now made this a ton simpler on the 08+ bikes

So you want to take programming that EBR worked for and probably holds some sort of patent/trademark for and duplicate it?

^seriously..... ???

[down][down][down][down][down][down][down] to you

That's like saying you shouldn't take the exhaust valve they worked hard to design and put it on another motorcycle's muffler.

It's not secret, anyone with the program can go in and view the fan settings. Just wanting to update our older programming is all.

Looking at what EBR does is no different then looking at what the factory does. Both spend time and money to create the program for our bikes. Its no different then looking at what my tuning is and what wideband tuning I have done to my bikes. Well I guess the only difference is I don't do it for money and offer my knowledge and help for free. This isn't top secret stuff here. Would you feel bad if you downloaded the stock ecm and looked at it?[confused]

Anyways if someone has an ebr ecm and cable I can walk you through how to download the eeprom and I can tell you the fan settings. Also if you have a 2010 I can check that one and compare it to my 09.

When buying an EBR ECM, you're essentially buying a software license. You have a copy of that software for your use, but that does not legally (or ethically) allow you to distribute the software or any part of the software.

So..... If your local dealer is of no help or you dont have a local dealer, how are we supposed to get the updated cooling program that they offer for FREE? (Which is the same updated cooling file that the race ecm has too)

Thats all we are doing here.

Is there a way to tell what tuning you have based on listening to it?

I kinda figured it was the fan whirring turning off as I slowed down (like a switch at ~15mph). With the RSS, I've only heard the fan after shut-off once in 3k+ miles.... in houston heat and traffic.

09 scg, though previously owned by 2 difference guys, so not really sure what might've been adjusted (NOT a race ecm)

I have a 2010 with that fan programming. My bike has the EBR ECM installed. I actually have both ECM's. And I have the USB cable. If you walk me through the instructions, I'll get the information you need tomorrow morning. I'll upload the data to my Dropbox folder.

Here is stock information. I will get the EBR info from Sext9. All temps are converted from C to F. Stock programming is done in metric.

My stock bike......
2009 Buell XB12R- BUEZD
Config -none
Key on- fan on at 455, off at 383
Key off- fan on at 437, off at 383, 30 min max run time, 11.5v min voltage
Speed- none

2010 Buell XB12R- BUE2D
Config- enable speed based control
Key on- fan on at 428, off at 356
Key off- fan on at 374, off at 338, 3 min max run time, 11.5v min voltage
Speed- Turns on at 13 mph and off at 9 mph. (There is a fan on and fan off temp vs. speed table)

Fan On Table Fan Off Table
Speed Temp Speed Temp
13 428 9 320
18 302 24 140
65 302 65 140
77 428 77 266

All speeds converted to mph and temps to F.

BUE1D is the first EEPROM that I see that uses speed based fan control. You would need to flash over to that version or newer to get the speed based control. You would need to make sure your ECM can handle the size of the larger EEPROM as well. (I am guessing 2008 and newer would) The older EEPROMs (like my 2009 BUEZD) do not have the fan temp/speed tables. I will work on getting the EBR for you guys next.

I would also have to disagree with this statement. When you buy an EBR ECM you are buying a car part programmed to a bike. There is zero software involved. Plug and play. Now if you have the technical knowledge to use your own software to view how the fan program works and share that knowledge for the benefit of everyone all the better. If you want to buy the EBR software to tune the EBR ECM more power to you as well. If you want to clone EBR ECM's by programming stock ones and reselling them on here for a profit then prepare for a demand to cease letter followed by a potential lawsuit! Haha. But nobody on here does that and I only know several on here that have the in-depth knowledge of the EEPROM's and could do that. None do. We all benefit by the sharing of information. Do you think by me telling you how someone programs fan settings I am hurting a business? Of course not. Well I understand you are concerned about intellectual property rights I think this is a little different.
