On a ride in Colorado today. I go to downshift and nothing. Pull over and look down and a hex bolt holding shift linkage together has fallen out.

Our in the sticks with a buddy on a wild goose chase at the hardware store. Anyone know what size those little bolts are?

5/16" 18 pitch, 1 1/4" from base of head to end of threads, head and base is 7/16"

I'm pretty certain I grabbed the shifter bolt out of my stash of bolts and not another but they should all be the same.

Im looking at a different bolt then, youre talking about one of the really small ones with the allen head that on the linkage rod?

That's the one! Bought 2 stainless at home depot. Luckily a buddy I was riding with had a metric tool kit in his new gxr1000 and after he rode to depot we got em in and finished the ride. Was a reminder I need to go through every screw and bolt this week.

I had that same bolt snap on me coming home from work. I found a replacement at Lowes. Took longer for my wife to come pick me up, go home, grab some tools, find the bolt at the store, and drive back then it did to get the bolt out and replaced. Ridiculous.
