he all,

I am more of an XB man& don't know much about tubers...

a cheap 2000 x1 lightning has come up at a local dealer, it seems to cheap... asking $8500 AUD & they have another listing @ $7999 AUD they both have 12000 Kilometers / 7456 Miles on the clock & in sweet condition, most x1's tend to sell between $10000 $12000 in Australia.

what should I look out for?

how can you tell its genuine miles?

I heard the early (tuber) lightnings were a bit problematic? is this the case?

might need to cut n paste link...

cheers

are all recalls done?
suspension still original? (has early wear, needs to be replaced)

looks like it has been down on the rh side...
the muffler bracket needs to be reinforced @ the front

that's like 5,500 usd which seems extremely high (but i know value could be different) but i just sold my 99 x1 for 1500 usd.

i never had any problems with my bike other than wear and tear really. i had all the recalls updated. the only things i had to fix were the rear brake line (it ripped) and the throttle sticks (but new owner can fix that). good luck!!

cheers guys! leFox you got better eyes than me, thanks for pointing that out!

that's like 5,500 used which seems extremely high

I think the original one way ticket (export) to Australia still effects the pricing here, and not to mention the arse is falling out of our economy.

we pay $1595,00 AUD + on road & stamp duty = $1795,00 AUD for a new XB here.

"getting recalls done", do I pay for that?

what would new shocks and better support bracket cost roughly? any must have brands on the shocks?

I will look into it guys, going to check it out this weekend! thanks a heap! this forum rocks!

:D
