In need of new heads

So I am being told my heads are beyond repair. My question is since this is a harley motor and all, are sportster heads interchangeable? I guess will other parts fit on my 1203?

Yes & no. Sportster heads have different bolt sizes for the front mount. But the newer 1200 heads are similar design performance wise.

There is another set on ebay for an xb9, are they the same for xb12?
My heads are still at the machine shop so I don't have part numbers

They are the same...IIRC there were slight variations of the rocker boxes and the gaskets in the later bikes from the early xb's...it all works on xb 9s or 12s
