We figured out my bike (2009 firebolt) has a bad dog ear and shift fork for 3rd. The 3rd gear it self may be salvageable. My question is where can I find parts for them? Are they swap able with sportster transmissions? If so what year range would work with my 09? My Harley dealership wouldn't even sell me a oil filter even though I showed them what I needed. So any help would be appreciated. I don't want to have to use the over seas store and pay a bunch for shipping is why I'm trying to find stuff state side.

If you are located in the states, there are several Harley Davidson dealerships with a convenient online parts ordering website, such as:
- check the site sponsor sites, buellsterparts (http://www.buellsterparts.com/) and Buellparts (http://www.buellparts.net/) first to see if they stock your parts
- http://www.kutterharleyonline.com/ (free ship over $99)
http://estore.chester-harley-davidson.co.uk/ is a good resource to check discontinued parts status as they have the superseded part numbers, whereas most others just say part not found.
Twin Motorcycles (http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/searchparts.asp) has done a great service to the Buell community by making available online the parts diagrams with part numbers for all model year Buells. Sounds like you are aware of them already.
Also, if your local H-D dealership is like mine, they don't have a nice online parts ordering system like the sites above, but they do have an online "submit your parts and we'll email you back the price" form.
