Can a 08 handle high and low HID's?

Can a stock 08 1125r stator handle high and low 55w hid lights? Do u need it run a relay right off the battery on this bike?

It's not the stator that's the problem, the stock lights are 55 watts, if I am correct. It's that that HIDs have a much higher surge on start up, leading to blown fuses and whatnot.
