K&N and exhaust gutting help.

Hi guys I'm proud to say I just got my first bike. 2009 buell xb12s!! Wahoo!! I love the bike but I just want to change some things. (1) I would like to gut my stock muffler. I love the way stock looks. After you tubing I found they sound great! (2) I want a K&N air filter. With doing this will I notice much gains? After doing the above should I mess with the computer? If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be so great full. Thanks you!
