hey everyone! i finally got a new (to me) after almost a year without my baby =( i had an 02 x1w that was tricked out and really nice. but sold it in august. this friday i purchased an 04 xb12s with 3950 miles. black and gold combo and i got it for a pretty good deal at 5500. considering it was in my neighboring town and i didnt have to drive far to get it.
but shes all stock and i want to make some quick mods to her.
ive looked for a rear fender eliminator kit. but theyt are hard to find and pricey. im interested in making my own out of the cheese grater but i need help. if someone can show me pics of how to cut the stock one and what with... and how to mount the turn signals.
also the airbox doesnt have that mesh vent behind the gas cap. what mod can i do to open that up and is there an intake kit i could get that bolts (or hooks) right up.?
\
note: i wont be purchasing exhaust or ecm for another month. i just want to start modding. thanks.

Search the "do it yourself thread" abd you'll find the basics real fast. Good luck!

Changing the plugs and doing a breather re-route and maybe air box mod will help

thanks alot guys. and that airbox looks great dave. already have the pucks. cant wait till i start my new job on the 29th. i frame house right now but im starting a new job as a equiptment operator at a local factory. then ill get the ecm and exhaust. i really like the jardine, but i dont like the idea of repacking. so might go with drummer.
think ill go take my belt gaurds off now. haha
what spark plugs do you recomend?

Jardine is a bit lighter as well.
Repacking is very easy, a little messy but I got it done in 1/2 hour. The repacking material was 15$.
I'm really happy with the sound of the Jardine, don't let the repacking be the reason you don't buy it. Pick your pipe on the perks not the bad stuff!
Not dog'n Drummer though either.....Just one guy who's happy with the Jardine!

Are those the same plugs for the 06 XB9SX also? New to Buells as well.

this one I did myself. I didn't get a pic of it after paint and the bike is now totaled. If anyone got pics of it at Homecoming last year let me know I would love to have a copy.

didnt get the headlight bucket painted cause they are a total pain to get off, the torque bolts in the middle have little pins in the middle for some reason and i dont have anything that will fit them, but got everthing else done and very happy with the results. I cant figure out how to post pics tho, i have them on my comp and on photobucket (i hate photobucket) but i dont know how to get them to show up on a post like this. they arnt in jpeg form on my comp either. jus in my pictures folder.
didnt go with the long horn but i really like the look of those.
if i can get a pic posted you can see.
